Ukraine Asks World to Cool It With the 'Superhuman' Stuff: 'We're Just Trying Not to Die'
Turns out fighting off a superpower takes more than just 'resilience' and vibes; who knew?
Okay, so apparently the Ukrainians are getting a little tired of being portrayed as some kind of unkillable, meme-powered super-race. Don't get me wrong, they're BASED. But even the most BASED freedom fighters need, like, actual help, not just a pat on the back and a 'You got this!' while their cities are getting turned into rubble.
The whole 'resilience' thing has become the new 'thoughts and prayers.' It sounds good on Twitter, but it doesn't exactly stop Russian tanks. At this point, I'm pretty sure Putin is powered by cope from the mainstream media narratives. If Ukrainians are so resilient, maybe they can just 'resilient' their way out of needing missiles. Right?
Remember that time everyone was patting themselves on the back for how 'resilient' New Orleans was after Katrina? How'd that work out? (Spoiler: Not great.) Narratives are great for shaping the narrative, but don't confuse them with effective policy.
The Ukrainians are basically saying, 'Thanks for the good vibes, but maybe send some more Javelins and less virtue signaling.' Fair enough. They’re not asking to be seen as some kind of invincible army of Marvel heroes. They are asking for the continued steady provision of armaments.
It's almost like real wars are won with, you know, real weapons and actual strategy, not just 'good vibes' and 'strong spirit.' Who knew? (Everyone with a brain, that's who.) Maybe instead of endless articles about Ukrainian resilience, we could get some more analysis about effective aid and get weapons into the right hands.
The virtue signaling is strong with this one. The constant praise and endless platitudes are becoming nauseating to Ukrainians who are fighting for their very survival. I mean, how would you feel if you lost your home and your family, and all the world could say is that you're so brave?
All this performative online solidarity is exhausting. It would be more helpful to send funds, food, and weapons. I guess most people are too busy changing their profile pic to care about those details.
So, yeah, let's dial back the 'resilience' talk and start focusing on what Ukraine actually needs. Less 'kumbaya,' more 'kaboom.' Capiche?
In the meantime, let's make sure they get the goods to keep kicking Putin's commie a**. Because at the end of the day, freedom isn't free, and it sure as hell isn't built on 'resilience' alone. Time for some actual, tangible support.
